Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness. It can be such a very difficult thing to do.

We read verses about the importance of forgiveness yet we hold onto resentment and anger within ourselves.

We’re angry at someone’s actions or we’re angry at someone’s words or we’re angry at ourselves for whatever reason.

But forgiveness is so important to God that he said if you don’t forgive others I will not forgive you. Wow! Just think about that one for a minute.

Does forgiving somebody means that we should allow them to be a negative Force in our lives? Absolutely not. But forgiving someone who has offended you does mean recognizing that each one of us falls short of the glory of God on a regular basis.

The reason that God tells us to forgive others is that each one of us is equal in our sin. And we must look beyond sin and look to God.

God is so amazing! He created the things that we see and the things that we don’t see. He created each individual plant. He watches as animals in the wilderness give birth. He sees the depth of the earth and the depths of the ocean. He sees the flower planted on a ledge far beyond any eyes vision. He feels the heart of each and every person as they laugh, as they love, as they hurt and as they live every moment of their lives.

And God sees all that you are experiencing too. And it is so easy to fall into ourselves and the situations at hand, but I want to show you a better way out of your situation.  Instead of focusing on your problems, which are temporary, and what someone has done to you or what you have done to someone else, turn your focus to the eternal God. Recognize his greatness. Recognize that he is so amazing and so powerful and so great!

Put your thoughts and put your mind on to our great Almighty Savior and realize that our forgiving someone else or forgiving our self is the least that we can do to show our appreciation to God.

Can we talk?
How often are you talking to other people about God? Is he a part of your regular conversation or just sitting on the back burner?

We are so quick to talk about our spouses or our boyfriends or girlfriends, our children or even our pets: but how often are we talking about the wonderful God that we have?

I want to encourage everyone of us today to make sure that God is a top priority in everything that we do. Make it a point to mention God or Jesus or the Holy Spirit or even heaven multiple times a day. Do it on purpose.

Just as an athlete has to warm up and exercise and practice intentionally, it is the same way with our spiritual exercise.

We have to get ourselves in the habit of speaking about God in order for it to become a natural part of us. So let's give ourselves a goal of seven times a day. For God gave us seven days, so let's give it back to him starting today.

This morning as I listen to the thunder's roar through the heavens, I was reminded of God's magnificent glory.

His power is never ending. He is the creator of all the heavens and all the earth and deserves our praise and glory.

So, as we watch the rains fall from the sky and hear the thunder roar, look up and magnify our God.

He is the everlasting to everlasting. He is the great amen and he is the king of all.

And Lord God, as we watch you replenish the earth we are reminded of just how amazing, spectacular and powerful you truly are. We love you and we praise you Lord God. To you be the glory forever and ever amen.

He We Go!
Well, here we go back in the saddle again. The kids are back in school and it's time to get down to business. Out with the old and in with the new.

It's a new year filled with great possibilities. God has so many things in store for each one of us. So, I want to encourage you to listen to the Holy Spirit as he speaks in your life. His words line up directly with the Bible. Therefore, it is so important that we know what the word says so that we will not be deceived. Satan roars around like a lion waiting to see who he can devour. We must always be aware of everything going on around us.

Making a commitment for daily Bible study will change your entire life. When we are in sync with God, we start to understand and to hear his voice. And isn't that what everyone of us want… Clarity. So open the word, open your ears and get ready for an amazing year.

This was my face this morning while I was taking a walk. I was enjoying my private time alone and talking to God. Then, I asked got a question. But, the moment I asked the question, I laughed to myself and said how would God show me an answer while I'm out here walking. There was no one around and nothing much except for the trees in the water.

So, just as I was finishing my little thought in my head, I looked out on the water to my right and what did I see? But a pelican nodding his beak up and down enthusiastically. I then looked up into the heavens and smiled. Just when we think God can't answer us, he does.

God promises us that he will always hear an answer our prayers. So what are you praying for today? Seek God and you will find.
Take time out

A dear friend of mine told me the other day that God is not the author of confusion. Of course I know that this is in the Bible, but how quickly we forget the words set of been spoken to us by the prophets. So sometimes God just have to send a friend to remind us.
So, if you have thoughts that are spinning wildly around in your head, just stop. Think about what you were thinking about. God tells us to think about things that are pure and everlasting.
We tend to get ourselves so tied up in the moment. We think about everything going on in our lives and our heads just spinning around in circles.
Well, I’m here to tell you that you can drive yourself crazy. So take a minute and just remind yourself where the mind goes the man follows.
We spend all this time making sure that we look beautiful on the outside, but how much time are we spending on the inside and on our mind?
Remember, that which we put time into is what we become. So train yourself to think about what you were thinking about and be wise enough to recognize wrong and right thoughts. And then make sure you were shutting away the confusion. You can turn your thoughts around which will in turn change your life.
Live everyday for God
Live everyday for God

This morning during family Bible study, we discussed the importance of our behaviors matching up to who we say we are. One of the number one complaint of people is hypocrisy amongst Christians. So my question for you is, “are you a hypocrite?” When people think of you or speak of you, what do they say?  Hmmm, this is something we all need to contemplate. Well, I don’t know about you but I want to be a better person. I want to live each day striving to the better within myself and better towards other people. I want to learn to love more, forgive more and judge less. There way too many times in my life where I know I have been a hypocrite. I know I have lived in complete defiance to God’s word. I know that I have not been the person I was created to be. I know you may be saying, Heather quit being so hard on yourself. But if I’m not hard on myself, who will be? The Bible tells us to recognize our sins, to admit them to God and to turn from them. Many times we commit the same sins over and over again, but today is the day and now is the time to turn over a new leaf. Let’s do away with hypocrisy and begin to let our lives shine with Christ.

Shake it off
Shake it off

Have you ever seen a dog after they mark their territory kick their feet backwards? Their making sure that other dogs know, hey this is my territory! Well, this reminds me of a Bible verse and Matthew 10 that tells us to shake the dust off of our feet if others will not listen to us. As I watched my dogs so proudly kick the dirt, that was flying all over the place, I chuckled a bit.  It actually made me a little bit sad as I remembered how many people I had spread the gospel to and yet they had chosen not to listen to a single word that was said.  So, why did God tell us to kick the dirt off of our feet if they will not hear what we have to say?  Well, God has one plan and that is for us to all praise and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  And while many are willing to listen to the message, there are always those who will not.  God does not want us to sit upset all of the time at those Who will not listen, so he tells us not to let it bother us.  Shake it off and move on. And if there are people in your life that you have worked and worked and worked with to try to bring the gospel to them and yet they just seem oblivious, Just remember that you did the planting of the seed.  You do not have to beat yourself up because they did not just graciously embrace every single thing that you said to them.  Kick that dirt up and continue doing what you were meant to do would just spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Embrace the differences

Are you willing to look at other people's shortcomings and forgive them? Or are you so proud that you only recognize faults and others and never realize that you yourself have faults as well?

We have to be willing to love each other how we are. If we spend our lives comparing one person to another person, we will never have fellowship with anyone.

Each person is unique and special. God did not create each and everyone of us to be the same in every way shape and form. He made you and he made me and every single person exactly how he wanted them to be.

So quit looking and judging just because someone doesn't look, think or act like you. It's OK to be different!
Not my fault
Not my fault
Do you find that things are always someone else's fault and never your own?

It reminds me of a multitude of times on my daughter has knocked things over and said, "it wasn't me".

But, each one of us has done this at one time or another. Or quick to jump to conclusions I'm quick to say things, and then we step back and look and realize 0MG maybe I should have not said or done that.

Well, I've done this on a multitude of occasions, Space most recently during my vacation to Key West and Cozumel. But we can't spend our lives beating ourselves up just because we did something wrong or said something wrong. We just have to suck it up buttercup and move on.

Dwelling on the past is never good for anyone. But we can take the time to recognize what we have or have not done and do our best to remedy the situation.

Thank goodness we have Jesus to cover our faults and to lead us and guide us along his straight and narrow path.

Sometimes that path can get slippery and you aren't sure which way to turn. But if the path that you were taking is leading you to question if what you were doing or saying is correct or wrong, you know the answer...back up and go the right way. and make certain that you take responsibility for your own actions.
