- VPK · 4 to 5 years · Free for eligible children

- Inside the VPK room
The year before kindergarten, done right.
VPK is Florida’s promise that every child gets a running start at school, and it is a promise we take personally. Our VPK mornings follow the state’s early learning standards, building the reading, math, and independence kindergarten teachers hope to see walk through their door.
Because this is Mustard Seed Kidz, the year comes with more than academics. Faith stays woven through the week. Groups stay small. And your child is known by name, celebrated by name, and prayed for by name.
Working families can wrap the free morning in full day care, 6:30 to 6:00, so VPK fits real schedules and real life.

- What they learn here
What kindergarten ready actually means.
Aligned with Florida’s early learning standards, and aimed straight at a confident first day of kindergarten.
- Letter sounds, early reading skills, and name writing
- Numbers, counting, patterns, and early math thinking
- Following multi step directions and classroom routines
- Fine motor strength for pencils, scissors, and glue
- Kindness, sharing, and faith woven through the week
- The independence to hang a backpack and start the day
- Eligibility, made simple
Does your child qualify? Probably, yes.
VPK is for children who live in Florida and turn 4 on or before September 1 of the school year. That is the whole test. There is no income requirement and no catch, just a state that wants every child ready for kindergarten.
The state paperwork can feel like a maze the first time, so we walk families through it step by step. Bring your questions to a tour, and we will send you home with a clear list.
