The Creative Curriculum for VPK
Faith-Based Pinnacle Curriculum for Infant Toddlers

MSK

At Mustard Seed Kidz Preschool, we believe that children learn best through intentional teaching, hands-on exploration, and meaningful relationships. That’s why we use research-based, developmentally appropriate curricula designed to support the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

We carefully select curriculum programs that align with early learning standards while allowing children to grow at their own pace in a nurturing, structured environment.

Whole-Child Development

Both curricula emphasize:

❤️ Positive social interactions
🧠 Cognitive development
✏️ Early academic skills
🤝 Self-regulation and classroom readiness
🙏 Character and values development

At Mustard Seed Kidz Preschool, curriculum is more than worksheets — it’s purposeful, engaging learning designed to grow confident, capable children.

Hands on Learning

For our Pre-K and VPK students (ages 4–5), we use Teaching Strategies’ The Creative Curriculum®, one of the most widely respected early childhood programs in the country.

The Creative Curriculum is built around hands-on learning and exploration within structured interest areas such as:

  • Literacy & Language

  • Mathematics

  • Science & Discovery

  • Social Studies

  • Art & Creativity

  • Dramatic Play

  • Blocks & Construction

What Makes It Effective?

✔ Research-based and aligned with early learning standards
✔ Promotes kindergarten readiness
✔ Encourages problem-solving and critical thinking
✔ Supports social-emotional development
✔ Uses intentional small-group and large-group instruction

Teachers use observation and assessment tools to individualize instruction, ensuring every child is supported and challenged appropriately. Children learn through purposeful play, guided discovery, and teacher-directed instruction that builds confidence and independence.

A Whole New World

For our infants, toddlers, and younger preschoolers (6 weeks–4 years), we use the Pinnacle Curriculum, a comprehensive program designed to nurture early development through structured, age-appropriate learning experiences.

This curriculum focuses on:

  • Early language development

  • Sensory exploration

  • Fine and gross motor skills

  • Social-emotional growth

  • Early math and literacy foundations

  • Structured daily routines

Why It Matters in the Early Years

During the first four years of life, brain development happens rapidly. Pinnacle Curriculum provides intentional lesson plans that promote secure attachments, predictable routines, and guided exploration — helping children build strong developmental foundations.

Teachers engage children in songs, movement, sensory activities, reading, and guided play that support both developmental milestones and school readiness skills.
